MagSafe Charging accessories
MagSafe — the name resurrected in 2020 from Apple's old magnetic MacBook chargers — refers to a ring of magnets on the back of almost every iPhone since the iPhone 12, and a family of accessories that snap onto it.
v1 — 15W, boring cable
v2 — 25W on iPhone 16 and up, Qi2 15W on Android, braided cable
v3 — 25W on iPhone 16 and up, Qi 2.2 25W on Android, braided cable
A folding travel charger combining a MagSafe charging pad and an Apple Watch puck. Charging speeds topped out at around 11–14 W, and it was quietly discontinued in September 2023.
Apple's snap-on power bank. It shipped charging at 5 W on the go, then a firmware update in 2022 raised that to 7.5 W, and it worked in both directions — the iPhone could top up the pack, or the pack the iPhone.
It was discontinued in September 2023, as the iPhone 15 dropped the bi-directional charging support.
The battery returned in 2025, after two years away — an ultra-thin pack shaped to the iPhone Air's footprint and, for now, sold only for the Air. It adds up to about 65% more charge and stretches the Air's video playback toward 40 hours.
